Matt Quigley: I
started teaching in the parks around Dublin in 2008. but 'Outdoor
Yoga' didn't exist until 2009. I hold qualifications in Yoga
of course, Pilates and Personal Training and have, at this stage,
worked a fair bit in all. Pilates and all forms of fitness are
great but Yoga is different. Sure, you start going for flexibility,
fitness and all of that and if you want to leave it there that's
cool. But there is so much more when you start to look a little
deeper. Yoga has been around for thousands of years and holds
some of the most important tools we can learn in order to live
our lives fulfilled, happy and well and I consider myself privileged
to be able to share some of these through Outdoor Yoga. |

Natalya is a Vinyasa
Flow Yoga teacher. She enjoys a physically strong but mindful
yoga practice, with a focus on body awareness and quality of
movement. She also believes that it is important to keep an

Susie Murray’s
path to Yoga grew from a passion in dance. Having studied Ballet
and Contemporary she developed an understanding of peace and
harmony through this primal artistic expression of movement.
In 2001 Susie was introduced into the style of Hatha yoga and
from there her practice built steadily, extending from the mat
and into her life. After 6 years of intensive practice in various
styles of yoga, Susie qualified from the teacher training course
in The Elbow Room in Dublin, having studied under Lisa Wilkinson,
Debbie Corradino and Veronica Larsson. Susie then travelled
to India, spending one month living in the Ashram of Yoga Vidya
Gurukul in Nasik, where she was awarded another Teacher Training
qualification. In these last few years she has studied with
John Friend, Judith Lasater, David Swenson and Marie Quail all
of which have deeply influenced her and inspired her. More recently
she spent time in Fort Kochi India where she studied with her
teacher Sajeevan Arakkal Manoharan. With over 10 years experience
practicing yoga as a way of life, her classes are rooted in
the beauty and the strength of the practice and she hopes to
create a space of grace and honour for the soul. |

Joakim (Joe)
Saflund was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in December 1963.
"I have practiced for 12 years. I wish to thank the inspirational
teachers I have studied with and continue to learn from: Aisling
Guirke (Iyengar), Graeme and Leonie Northfield (Ashtanga Vinyasa),
Anatoliy Zenchenko (Hatha), Veronica Larsson, Marianne Jacuzzi,
Robin 'Togen' Moss... Thank you, the people coming to the
classes, no people no class no teacher no student. I intend
my practice to continue and evolve in the spirit of adventure,
learning, and settling into being."
Now, after having done prior preparation through life
and other practices, the study and practice of Yoga begins.

Deirdre Murphy: I began practising yoga
at the age of 17 in my home state of Alaska,
exploring it as a physical practice to compliment my dance
background. I began teaching yoga not only for the chance
to share transformative experience with other folk, but also
as a way to augment my income as a dancer. I have always enjoyed
the physical intensity brought about by the Vinyasa style,
and found that I loved translating the huge variety of yoga
asana into coherent, structured flows. I found the book Moving
Into Stillness, by Erich Schiffman, and found that his intuitive
style was similar to my own experience of yoga. I went on
to do teacher training with him in Santa Barbara, which opened
my mind immensely. After teaching and travelling my way through
many more of the states, and starting a family, I moved to
Ireland. To my surprise I found myself again drawn in to the
world of professional dance, where I find my daily yoga practice
to be a grounding, stabilising and inspirational influence.
Sharing yoga is, quite simply, my favourite thing to do. |
